Gooseneck Ball for 2020 Ford F-350 w OEM Prep Towing 2022 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS
Question:
I havent owned or towed a fifth wheel, but now am buying one to replace our smaller travel trailer. I have a 2020 Ford F350 Platinum SRW Diesel Super Cab short bed with the OEM fifth wheel prep installed, but no hitch. I am considering buying a used 2022 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS Fifth Wheel that has a Reese Goose Box RV Coupler Pin Box - 20K already installed. If I buy this fifth wheel, I need to install a hitch that accounts for both the short bed and turning radius as well as the other clearances for my truck, e.g., height adjustability and the sliding function. Having an empty truck bed when not towing the fifth wheel appeals to me. However, installing a Turnover Gooseneck hitch doesnt appear to be the right solution. It lacks both height adjustability for leveling the trailer for towing or a sliding function preventing the trailer from contacting the cab. Is there another hitch option? Is there something I am missing in my assessment? What do you suggest?

So I checked out pictures of your 2022 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS and since it has a tapered nose and the short bed of your 2020 Ford F-350 is actually on the longer side of short beds you can get away without needing any type of slider. So the great news is that since the trailer has a Reese Goosebox you can just use a gooseneck ball designed for the OEM rail kit of your 2020 Ford F-350 like the Curt # C60692 and you'd be set. You'd have the clean bed when not towing like you wanted too.
The Goosebox is height adjustable as well since you can install it in a higher set of mounting holes on the trailer too.
