Troubleshooting RAS Raised 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 3-1/4 Inches
Question:
I just installed these today 11/4/22 on my 2021 Silverado 1500. Others on these videos and on You Tube are saying that they only saw a rise of about a half inch ground to wheel-well, I got a rise of 3 1/4, how can that be? But when I connect to my trailer it still s 1 1/2 below the old truck height which is still too low. Granted, the tongue weight might be too much and my goal is to decrease that weight somehow, but I still wonder why the back of the truck was raised so much more than everyone elses, any idea why? P.S. I used the black spacer to gauge the load and everything was installed correctly as Ive watched several videos on how to install these.

The only way the RAS system would raise your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 that much is if the leaf springs were extremely worn out. It is when your suspension is in good shape that you would expect a 1/2" rise since the leaf springs are only sagging a little bit and it is taking the vehicle back to factory ride height.
If your leaf springs weren't flat then you either have the wrong kit or something was installed incorrectly. The # RAS3611-HD you were looking at is not the correct kit for your truck. If you have the # RAS54FR then I would check the leaf springs to see how worn out they are. Assuming they are in bad shape, it would be best to replace them.
If you are still experiencing sag I recommend using a weight distribution hitch along with the RAS. If you let me know your trailer tongue weight I would be happy to recommend a system for your setup.
