Will ST225/75R15 Tire Fit On Utility Trailer With ST205/75R14 Tires

I have a 5 X 10 utility trailer with ST205 75/R14 tire and rim. Will a ST225 75/R15 tire and rim fit on the hub?

The answer to your question depends on how much clearance you have. Switching from a 205/75-14 tire like the # AM32153 to a 225/75-15 like the # AM32545 will result in a loss of clearance. The # AM32545 is 2.1" taller and .8" wider when compared to the 205/75-14 tire.

This means you will lose .4" of clearance on the inside of the tire and 1.05" on the top. The recommended clearance is 3" on the top and 2" on the inside of the tire. As long as you still have enough clearance with the larger wheel and tire size, and the wheel bolt pattern matches, you can use a 225/75R15 tire on your utility trailer.
