Does Wheel have to Change When Going from Tire Size 9.50 x 16.5 to 235/80-16

is this possible without changing the rims changing 9.50 x 16.5 to 235/80-16

You have to match the rim size dimension of trailer wheels when replacing tires as a tire intended for a different size wheel will not fit a different wheel. While there is some flexibility with the tire width and sidewall height there is no flexibility when it comes to wheel diameter fit.

So if the goal was to go to a tire size of 235/80-16 you'd need a wheel and tire combo for that size like the Castle Rock ST235/80R16 part # LHACK133 for a wheel with an 8 lug bolt pattern or the part # TA59VR for a 6 bolt pattern.
