Should B&W Companion OEM Hitch For 2022 Ram 3500 be Creaking

Question:

I just installed and took for a spin and noticed lots of creaking. I followed instructions and added the white lithium to rubber bushings...maybe I need to add more? I didn't grease the zerk because it appeared to be greased from factory. Thoughts? Maybe its normal, just curious.

First, thanks for the purchase for your '22 Ram 3500 of the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600.

The creaking you are hearing is not unusual, particularly at low speeds. The moving parts are going to be making that noise, specifically the rubber bushings you mentioned since there is so much friction on them. That said, it won't hurt to add some more grease to see if it lessens the noise somewhat, but you are going to hear some creaking.

Also, you are correct about the zerk not needing to be greased right away as it is full from the factory, which I verified with B&W. It does need to be greased right away, but you will want to every 3-6 months or so (depending on how often you use it) with Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease # L11315 and Grease Gun # L30200.
