Using an Adapter to Tow a Trailer with LED Lights with a 2012 Mercedes GL450
Question:
I have a 2012 Mercedes Benz GL450 suv that will not drive a trailer with LED lights. Is there and adapter I can purchase that will hook up to my factory hitch output that will fix this issue?

Yes. If your trailer with LED lights has a 5-Way or 4-Way flat connector then you would use adapter # C35FR. If the trailer has a 7-Way connector you would need # C57003. These adapters have load resistors in them that provide additional power draw so the vehicle thinks there are incandescent lights on the trailer.
The other option is to install load resistors, # DI34ZR, in line on each circuit on the trailer wiring behind its connector. You can also use this method if the resistors in the adapters does not add enough power draw.
