Troubleshooting Why Taillights And Light Bar Permanently Stay On After Installing Harness # C55384

Question:

I installed the above part behind the rear bumper and the tail lights and the light bar stay on permanently. It seems like maybe the aux power is mis-routed to the tail lights? Any ideas or advice?

It sounds like the circuit is being powered when it is not supposed to be due to a wiring fault. To resolve I would recommend tracing the aux power chord that is routed to your tail lights using The Hook Probe Circuit Tester # PTW2993. Using this tester will identify any shorts in the circuits, or fuses on your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. If the voltage checks out fine you could of just got a bad wiring harness but it really sounds that there could be a short on your AUX power chord. You will also need to check for corrosion in the connector.
