Can Bug Screen Be Installed on MaxxAir II Vent Cover That Doesn't Have One Already

Question:

I have a MaxxAir II vent cover, which does not include a screen. Im puzzled as to how the MA10-20121 can snap in, since there are only some nubs at the top of the vent cover, and nothing at the sides or bottom and the picture/s of this part only appear to show a custom-cut screen. Snapping in usually requires some sort of frame or bracketing, which doesnt seem to be included here. Id like to have a screen fitted to the cover, but Im not seeing how this can/will work. Can someone explain? How would this screen be held in place?

Expert Reply:

The Replacement Bug Screen # MA10-20121 is for some of the older models of the MaxxAir II vent cover which had a panel on the inside that you pop out and then you can place the screen against the cover and replace the panel to keep the bug screen in place (see attached photo).

If you have this panel then that's how you'll secure the bug screen. If you have a newer model without this panel then you'll either need to get creative with adding the bug screen (like using screws to carefully attached the screen to the cover without busting the plastic) or you'll need to use a different cover like the MaxxAir FanMate # MA00-955003 which is compatible with the Bug Screen # MA00-955203 instead.
