Measurements And Parts Needed For Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR1THDS03

Question:

I have a off road camper I built on a trailer with 3500 lbs axles. Id like to replace them with Timbren axles. My axle is a axle over spring config to gain ground clearance. I was considering item # ASR1THDS03. Please let me know how to approach this.

Helpful Expert Reply:

To start the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # ASR1THDS03 you are looking at has springs rated for 2,200lbs. It does upgrade the spindle to the same size as you have on your current 3,500lb axle. You will want to measure how far below your frame it is to your axle centerline and the distance of the hub face to the frame. This Timbren system will position the axle center line 9-5/8" below the frame and compress 3-3/8" under load. The hub face will measure 8-1/2" off the frame.

Once you can confirm if these will work for your trailer and if the 2,200lbs is enough for your trailer you will then need either 2 Idler Hubs # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K or 2 Drum Hub Assemblies # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K and a Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA.

If the measurements or weight rating does not work for your trailer, please let me know what measurements your trailer has and the weight rating you will need for the trailer.
