How Does New Thule Lock Core Install into Thule Bike Rack
Question:
I received a replacement clamp for the XT bike rack and want to install a new lock on the large locking clamp. There is no existing lock in it Thule sent the locks separately. It appears there is a a correct way to slide the lock into the hole but I cant find anything about it. Can you be help. I saw your video on replacing a lock on a roof rack but on the clamp the locking cylinder needs to slide into the locking knob. Thanks.

When installing a Thule lock cylinder into a Thule rack what you need to do is use the change key that comes with the rekey kits like the part # TH450400 inserted into the lock core. You will take the lock core with the key inserted and push it into the rack and once there you will pull out the change key and the core is installed. This is how all of the Thule racks work old and new.
