Will the Thule Passage Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2010 Ford Edge

Question:

I have a 2010 Ford Edge with a spoiler on the hatch. Two questions. Will this rack work on my car and how easy is it to put on and take off? I am not mechanically inclined and my husband works out of town but I would like to be able to load up the bikes with the kids by myself. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thule does list the Passage 3, # TH911XT, as a fit for your 2010 Ford Edge. Instead of explaining how easy it is to install and use this rack, I have included a link to a video to the right showing the 2-bike version being installed on a 2013 Ford Edge that has that same spoiler at the top. The 3-bike version is the same except it holds 3 bikes.

As you can see in the video, installation is very straight forward and you should not have any problems installing and using the rack by yourself.

Since you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works as well.
