Thule WingBar Evo Flush Rail Roof Rack and Cargo Carrier to Fit 2023 BMW X5

Question:

Hi Jon, Thanks for the good info, I think I will get these. I like that the bars will not overhang, it looks a lot cleaner that way. I plan to use this with a roof cargo carrier, so please provide some recommendations for those. Thanks

You are correct that the Thule roof racks for a 2022 BMW X5 with flush rails will also fit the 2023 models. We are always looking to update our fit guide system and this is one fit we are adding right now. The parts you need for your 2023 X5 are the following:

WingBar Edge Crossbars - Black # TH56FE or Silver # TH23RE
Edge Flush Rail feet - # TH89SC
Fit Kit - # TH186007
Lock Core Kit - # TH450400 (optional)

The AeroBlade Edge was replaced with the newer WingBar Edge crossbars which are even more aerodynamic, look more sleek, and are easier to use due to the dual piece insert trim instead of the single piece you have to cut for T-Mount accessories.

We actually had the opportunity to install the standard Thule WingBar roof rack system on a 2020 BMW X3 with flush rails that I'm linking for you to check out. Your system will look similar to this but the crossbars will end in the legs as opposed to sitting on top of them and having some overhang.

If you let me know what you plan on using the roof rack for I'd be more than happy to make some other recommendations for you!

Thanks for the feedback! For a rooftop carrier we have a few different options to choose from: To add some cargo space without anything bulky on top of your X5 I recommend the Inno Shaper 100 # INXA569 which mounts via the T-Slots and is a low-profile solution. For a roof box that looks more sleek and looks like it hugs your roof line we have the Thule Vector M # TH613201, but for something that looks a little more aggressive (but still appealing) and will stand out in a crowd we have the Yakima CBX # Y86FR. I personally like the CBX because the mounting hardware is an easier system to use and the boxy style models a lot of the newer vehicles but it stands out enough to start conversations with others who might be looking for a cargo box as well. Attached are review videos of all 3 options presented above for you to check out.
