Performance Tuner, Transmission Cooler, Towing Mirrors and Camera System For a 2015 Silverado 1500

Question:

max towing set up recommendations for a 2015 chevy silverado crew cab 5.3LV8. GVWR 7200, Payload just under 1800lbs, Towing 9200lbs, GCWR 15,000lbs. I am towing a 21 foot travel trailer and will be traveling long distance. I plan to keep everything under the above limits. I had my vehicle and trailer weighed with minimal cargo. Truck with me and dog and full gas 5800lbs, Trailer 5700lbs and tongue weight empty 800lbs. Obviously when loaded It will be near maximum capacity without going over. I have roadmaster suspension enhancement installed 3000lb, I have the proper weight distribution hitch. what more can I do to maximize handling and performance pulling near the trucks rated limits outside of buying a bigger truck. The hitch and roadmaster suspension enhancement have already made noticeable difference! any other suggestions to improve stability, safety, and performance?

As it sounds like you have your suspension set on your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 the next area I recommend focusing on is going to be the performance. The Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner # EP39YR will allow you to add a custom tune that will help with the shifts on the transmission and with the gauge cluster you will be able to monitor the temperatures more accurately and stop before causing damage to your engine, transmission and cooling system.

If you plan on driving in warmer climates a Transmission Cooler # D13504 will help to not only keep the transmission temperatures cooler but can also keep the engine temperatures cooler since the radiator will not be the only source for heat transfer for the transmission.

From a safety point of view the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors # CM10950 will allow you to slide on some mirrors allowing you to see better on the side of the trailer. The K-Source Custom Extendable Towing Mirrors # KS62135-36G are a step up from the slide on mirrors. These will replace the factory mirrors and can be simply pushed out for increased visibility. The mirror surfaces are also larger while attaching in the same place as your factory mirrors.

Finally since you mentioned it is you and your dog the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System # FCE48TASL-05 will help you when maneuvering your trailer. It includes 3 cameras and a 5" monitor. One camera is placed on the back of the camper and the other 2 on the sides. This will allow you better visibility around the camper at all times. They can be used while driving and as they attach to the running lights circuit of the trailer you can run power to these lights on the 7-way from your trailer to have visibility from inside your camper before letting your dog out to see if there is anyone or other animals around your trailer before going out.
