Will Reese Sidewinder Pin Box Paired With B&W Companion Hitch Sacrifice Performance

Question:

I currently have a BandW Companion Hitch RVK3710 installed on my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD short bed truck. I wanted to see what the cab clearance would be with the late model chevy and my 2021 Grand Design Solitude Fifth Wheel GVWR 15K with the curved nose cap before deciding on a Reese Sidewinder. After testing it out I have decent clearance but not enough for my peace of mind. If I replaced my Lippert 1621 18K with the Reese Sidewinder 68220 at 20K with a wedge will this change or sacrifice the performance of the BandW hitch as far as the fully articulating head and pivot front-to-back and side-to-side. The reason I am asking is I am happy with the performance of the current combination and dont want to spend the extra money for the Reese Sidewinder Airborne.

The Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret part # RP34FR will work great with the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package part # BWRVK3710. You will however need the Sidewinder Wedge Kit for B&W, Demco, and Husky Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP74FR. In regards to performance, there will be no affect as you are simply changing the pivot point therefore still utilizing the articulating head on the fifth wheel hitch.
