What Does MPT/FPT Stand For With City Water Inlets
Question:
What does MPT/FPT stand for? What do I need to do to figure out which part I need?

Expert Reply:
MPT stands for Male Pipe Thread and FPT stands for Female Pipe Thread, which is just an indicator for how the components can connect to other components.
For example, the RV City Water Inlet with Brass Check Valve - FPT # 37262155 you were looking at has a female connection point on both ends. This means that the threads are on the inside.
If you look at the RV City Water Inlet with Brass Check Valve - MPT # 37262145 you can see that the threads are on the outside.
To determine what's needed for your application you'll need to remove your current water inlet and get a look at the connection type or the connection point that the inlet would install onto. If you need help just send in some pictures and we can help find exactly what you need.
