How To Add a 7-Way and Trailer Brake Controller to a 2019 Ford Escape
Question:
hi, I am trying to figure out which wiring I need for a 2019 ford escape. I want the etrailer hitch Item # e98866, and I need a trailer brake controller. If I use trailer brake controller Item # 39523, it recommends I buy item #ETBC7, do I also need item# 118802 for the lights? Are there any other connectors etc that I need? thanks!

In order to install a 7-way trailer connector and brake controller on a 2019 Ford Escape you will first need to start with a 4-way for which I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118802 and it's plug-in-play. Then, you can adapt this to a 7-way using the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. This adapter also comes with everything else you need for a trailer brake controller. I recommend going with a proportional one as they preform better than time-delayed, the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller part # HM47295 is our most cost effective.
Then, all you need is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98866 and Curt Towing Starter Kit part # C45534.
