How are Old Safety Chains Removed from Trailer to Install New Ones
Question:
I replaced my weight distributing hitch and my 24” chains are too short. My current chains are rated at 11,700#. The current chains are attached to a ring welded to the RV. I’m struggling with how to attach longer chains. Bolting doesn’t appear to be an option.

The Buyers Products 3/8" x 42" Class 4 Trailer Safety Chain with 1 Clevis Hook # 337BSC3842 is longer at 42 inches long and have a 15,000 lb capacity so they would work well for you. You'd most likely need to have the current ring cut or ground off so that you could then use something like the # 362ChainLoopU to weld on new loops and attach the chains.
