Will the Yakima DeepSpace 10 Rooftop Cargo Box Make a Sprinter Van Too Tall

I have a 2022 ram ethos van. Will these boxes make the overall hight of the vehicle too tall?

Expert Reply:
The Yakima DeepSpace 10 Rooftop Cargo Box part # Y65RR measures 16" tall. Therefore, simply add this dimension from the top of the crossbars to get the new height of the vehicle. There are regulations for the max height of a vehicle in every state so be sure to check this before travel. I was able to find a document online from RVIA titled "Maximum Allowable Vehicle Height" which listed each max height by state. If you need something more low-profile, the Yakima CBX Rooftop Cargo Box part # Y66FR only measures 14-1/2" tall.
If neither of the above will work, check out the Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier part # Y62VR which mounts to the hitch so there are no height concerns and it swing out for door access.
