Installation Kit for Older Reese Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and 2008 Ford F-250 Short Bed

Question:

I just bought a 2008 Ford F250 Superduty with a 6foot bed. I believe they call it a crew cab smaller rear doors that open suicide style. I cannot find this particular hitch on the Reese website, but Im guessing the Quik Slide on the current 16K would be the same dimensions. The website specifies the 30035 universal rail kit as required for mounting. However, if one wanted to use the custom underbed brackets, it uses a different number for the rails, and there is no information stating which fifth wheels the 50082 rail kit is compatible with.

Helpful Expert Reply:

The 5th wheel trailer hitch that you have was made obsolete in 2009 but it does fit the universal # RP30035 and custom installation kits, including # RP50082-58. The actual rails in the kits are the same as far as what hitches will fit them. It is the underbed brackets that make a kit universal or custom. I have linked instructions and a video showing a typical installation of the install kit to the right for you.
