Recommeneded Gooseneck Hitch for 2020 or 2021 Ram 1500 Limited w/ Air Suspension

Question:

Looking to purchase 2020 or 2021 Ram 1500 Limited with Air Suspension to tow Sundowner Charter TR SE Gooseneck trailer. Most of the Limited trucks with Crew Cab on the market are 58inch bed. With BWGNRK1319 hitch, will I also need an offset ball? The diagram that was shared on other questions notes Short Bed beds less than 8foot long 39 3/8, is that measurement from the cab or tailgate?

The B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit item # BWGNRK1319 is compatible with a 2020 Ram 1500 5-1/2' bed and 6-1/2' bed with or without the diesel engine. It does work with the factory air suspension system. It will work with the 2021 Ram 1500's 5-1/2' bed and 6-1/2' bed with the EcoDiesel engine.

Using the B&W 4" Offset Ball item # BWGNXA4085 will give you 4" of extra clearance when making turns and backing up. This is highly recommended with short bed trucks.

The 39-3/8" measurement is from the tailgate. I have linked an installation video below that will show you the process and what the final product will look like.

To make towing with a gooseneck easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your gooseneck trailer easier and more convenient.
