Base Rail Kit Recommendation for 5th Wheel Towing with a 2017 Ram 2500 Short Bed

Your Reese 15K Signature Series 5th wheel hitch uses a unique underbed mounting kit that is unfortunately not made for your 2017 Ram 2500 so we need to look into a different hitch so you can tow with your truck.

For a standard base rail kit that fits your Ram I recommend picking up the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # RP50054-58. The brackets that come with this kit match up to existing holes in your truck frame so you won't have to do any drilling to your frame for the install.

Then for a 5th wheel hitch I recommend checking out the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3270 because it has 3/4" thick wraparound jaws for a nice and secured connection as well as a cam-action latching handle which makes it easy to disconnect your trailer even when you're parked on unlevel ground.

If you don't already have a 7-Way in the bed of your Ram I also recommend picking up the Pollak # PK11893-11932 as it makes connecting your trailer wiring much easier.
