Helpful Expert Reply:
No, the Hughes Autoformers Voltage Booster with Surge Protection # HU24FR will not work with your inverter generator. It is designed to be used with a pedestal at an RV park, not a generator.
We do not have a voltage booster that will work with a generator. But if you are wanting a surge protector that works with a generator you can use the Power Watchdog Surge Protector # HU27FR. One thing you will want to note is that some generators have a ‘floating neutral’. This could cause the Power Watchdog surge protector or any other EMS surge protector to give you an ‘open ground’ or ‘open neutral’ error code and prevent power from going into your RV. If this is the case with your generator, you can resolve this issue by plugging the Hughes Autoformers Ground Neutral Bonded Plug for Generators Item # HU33FR into an open outlet on your generator.
