We can get your 2016 GMC Terrain set up to be flat towed behind your motorhome, and there are a number of parts you'll need to do this. I'll go ahead and list them out for you to make it easy to order:

- Base Plate Kit: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1689

- Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates # e47ZR

- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Fuse Bypass (4-Cylinder Engine): Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles # RM-76517
OR
- Fuse Bypass (V6 Engine): Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch for Towed Vehicles # RM76511

- Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751439

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

- Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251

The Blue Ox base plates are the best option because not only does Blue Ox make high-quality parts, these base plates have removable arms which allow your 2016 Terrain to maintain a nice, clean look when you aren't towing it.

For the tow bar, the etrailer SD is super easy to use, connecting with arms that self-align; and it has a 6,000 lb capacity, which is well over what your Terrain weighs. It even comes with safety cables so you don't have to purchase those separately.

I really like the Flexo-Coil wiring kit because it is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback, keeping your Terrain's electrical system safe, and the charge line kit will keep your battery charged as it is being towed. For the fuse bypass, will want to take note of the correct one for your SUV, which just depends on the engine you have. And as for the stoplight switch, that is needed to make sure the supplemental braking system is functioning properly, as it allows the proper signal to reach the system.

Finally, the Stay-IN-Play DUO braking system is easily the best because it gives you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. So when you hit the brakes on your motorhome, your Terrain is going to get the same amount of braking power, resulting in much smoother braking than other systems.
