Trailer Hitch and Platform-Style Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2004 Honda Odyssey
Question:
Hey Guys. Im looking to purchase a Platform style bike rack for 2004 Honda Odyssey. Any recommendations on this style? I need to carry a 29er bike and kids bike. Im a little worried with ground clearance. I also need to purchase the hitch mount also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you are looking for a trailer hitch and a platform-style bike rack, we can begin with the trailer hitch. I recommend installing a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver like the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, # 75270. There are more hitch mount accessories available for 2 inch trailer hitches, so that would be your best option.
I attached the installation instructions as well as an installation video on a 2003 Odyssey for you to check out. The installation will be the same on your 2004 Honda Odyssey. Once this hitch is installed, you will have approximately 10 inches of ground clearance at the trailer hitch receiver.
For a platform-style bike rack, I recommend looking at the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Rack, # S64670. This is one of the most popular platform-style bike racks among our customers that own a Honda Odyssey. It also has a shank with a 3 inch rise for better ground clearance. You will have no problem loading your 29er and your kids bike on this rack.
I have also attached a link to all of our platform-style bike racks for you to check out and compare.
