Expert Reply:
Yes, The 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L can be installed on your 2022 Mazda CX9 but first you will need the original harness first.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118278 will give you a 4-flat harness and make it to where your trailer's stop, turn, and taillights will mirror your vehicle's stop, turn, and taillights. This harness will plug into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area.
The 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L will then attach into the 4 flat harness above and give you 4 extra wires that you will have to run there functions are below:
Black - Connect to battery with fuse of breaker for 12V power source
Blue - Connect to output wire on brake controller
White - Connect to vehicle frame for ground
Yellow - Auxiliary wire for 12V power, reverse lights, or reverse lockout for trailer brakes.
The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 will plug into the 7 way plug and will then wirelessly connect to your smartphone turning it into a brake control interface.
The controller has a triple-axis accelerometer which is highly responsive to ensure a smooth, uniform stopping action. The Manual Override Button # C83HR will let you activate your trailer brakes without using your smartphone. The app must be running for the button to operate.
