The Tow Ready Custom Fit Taillight Converter # 119178KIT installs in your 2011 Hyundai Accent Hatchback by connecting to the wiring at the tail light assemblies. This harness works with both LED and incandescent lights and has an auto-reset feature.
The kit includes the harness with 4-pole connector, a circuit tester to confirm the function carried on each vehicle wire, and quick-splice connectors. I have attached the written installation instructions as well as a sample video showing this harness being installed in a different vehicle. You will need a drill, pliers or a crimping tool and screwdriver.
Once you have tested to confirm vehicle wire functions, you will temporarily disconnect the battery negative terminal and make the quick-splice connections to provide the vehicle lighting signals to the converter box.
The wire colors used in vehicles will vary, so it is necessary to test (with the included circuit tester) to confirm what function each wire carries. You will make your connections to the harness based on function, not wire color. The wire colors shown on the vehicle in the video may not be the same as found on your Accent, but the tester will allow you to know which vehicle wire to splice to each lead on the harness. Once all connections are made you will re-install the tail light assemblies and reconnect your battery ground.
Although the taillight connectors and wiring on your Accent Hatchback may vary from those shown in the video, the overall process for installing this converter will be the same.
