Can Ram Fifth Wheel Prep Kit be Added to 2020 Ram 2500 that Does not Have It

Question:

I just purchased a 2020 Ram 2500 short box truck that I intend to use for pulling a fifth wheel trailer. The truck does not have the puck system installed. Can this system be installed after purchase or is it a factory installed only option? Thanks.

I did some checking and it looks like you can add the 5th wheel prep kit to your 2020 Ram 2500 and it appears the part number is 82215838AB which would then allow you to use a hitch designed to fit directly to that rail kit like with the very popular B and W Companion hitch part # BWRVK3600 which many regard as the nicest hitch you can get due to how well it is made, how easy it is to use, how quiet and smooth it is, and how it comes apart pretty easily which allows for easier install and removal.
