Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack to Carry Carbon Fiber Bike on 2013 Nissan Juke
Question:
I have a carbon fiber bike that Id like to carry on a hitch-type rack. I have a front-wheel drive Nissan Juke. What all do I need for this? Do you suggest a mechanic install the hitch?

To carry your bike using a hitch mounted bike rack, you first need a hitch. For the FWD model, as long as it is not a NISMO model, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class I receiver, part # 24892. The hitch is identical to the Hidden Hitch model, but it does not include the ball mount that you will not need if you are only going to use the hitch to carry a bike rack.
For a carbon fiber bike, the best way to transport the bike without causing undue stress to the frame is to use a platform rack. The Swagman XTC, part # S64670 is economically priced, and is a popular choice for Nissan Juke owners. If you follow the provided link to the product description page, you will see that the rack is very highly rated by our customers.
Many of our customers install their hitches themselves. Take a look at the installation instructions I have linked you to. As you can see, the installation is pretty straightforward and not too difficult. However, if the installation is not something you would feel comfortable attempting yourself, I would be happy to recommend a local installer if you would care to reply with your city, state and zip code.
I have linked you to a product demonstration video featuring the Swagman XTC2 that you might find helpful.
