Could Companion Hitch be Adapted to Fit B and W Patiot Base
Question:
I have a bandw companion 5th wheel hitch for my summer truck 2022 ram 2500 and have the regular 5th wheel rails in my winter truck 2006 ram 2500. I have been told the companion head will not fit on the patriot base, do the side brackets that hold the nylon swivel pieces fit from the companion to the patriot so I can swap those to get the heads to fit?

We've asked B and W this in the past and they've told us there isn't anyway to convert a Companion hitch head to a Patriot base even with different brackets like you mentioned. So since you have above-bed rails what you'd want is a Patriot hitch that is designed to fit them like the:
