Correct 30-1/2 Inch Long 7-Leaf Slipper Spring For 15,000 lb Trailer Axle

Question:

Hello, I have a 2006 car hauler trailer with dexter tandem 15k axles. The HAP-203–03 kit is what is on the trailer, the leaf springs attached are 3” 7 leaf 30-1/2. I need to replace the front axle springs, it appears that there are 2 different styles with somewhat close specs, but have either a flat or radius end. Looking at the spring that are on the trailer now it’s difficult to see the entire end of leaf design. Without taking the suspension apart for now, what would be the correct leaf for this dexter hanger kit? Looking at the equalizer specs, i didn’t see any recommended leaf spring end for this kit. Thank you

There isn't a correct option for a slipper spring end type (radius or flat) for a 15k axle, or a particular fit for the Dexter Tandem-Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit for 3" Slipper Springs # HAP-203-03. Flat and radius ends are completely interchangeable and either will work just fine, you only need to make sure your dimensions are correct. Since you mentioned having a 15,000 lb axle and your spring is 30-1/2" long and 3" wide you can use either of the following:

- Dexter Axle 7-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Flat End for 15,000-lb Trailer Axles - 30-1/2" Long # DX35QR

- 7-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 15,000-lb Trailer Axles - 30-1/2" Long # SP-270275

I like Dexter # DX35QR due to their reputation for quality, but either spring will work just fine.
