Solution for Replacement Hub on 1993 Ranger Trail Trailer With L68149 Inner and Outer Bearing

Question:

I need a replacement hub for my trailer. The axle spindle is a straight spindle it takes the same size bearing for inner and outer. The hub does not have breaks. Do you have one in stock? If you have a complete hub assembly I would get that. I believe the bearings are L68149 and the rear seal is 1.68x2.33.

A # L68149 inner and outer bearing is not a standard combination. Your # 010-180-00 is also not a very common grease seal. Unfortunately, there are no replacement hubs available that match this combination. The first thing I would do is verify that they are in fact # L68149 bearings. The part number may be stamped on the side, or you can measure the inner diameter using a digital caliper like the # PTW80157.

Assuming that is correct, since there are no replacement hubs available the best solution is a replacement axle that uses a modern bearing combination. You will need to know the capacity of your axle along with the hub face to hub face measurement. For example, if you find you have a 3,500 lb axle that is 95" long you could use the # e52GR.

This axle includes idler hubs with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern that use a # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearing. It also has an 80" spring center measurement. If that doesn't match the spring seat measurement on your current axle you can cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS238 where you need them.
