Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2023 Ford F-250 or F-350 w/ Factory Puck System
Question:
I have a new 2023 Ford with the factory puck system. I want to know what 5th wheel hitch will fit and allow me to pull my 16k 5th wheel trailer.

The Ford factory puck system has the same pattern on the F-250 and F-350 so regardless of which one you have my recommendations will work for both.
If your Ford has the 8 foot bed or you are using a rotating pin box you will want the B&W Companion item # BWRVK3300.
If your Ford truck has the 6-3/4 foot bed you will want the B&W Companion Slider item # BWRVK3370.
Both of the Companion hitches have a 20,000 lbs capacity. B&W makes the best 5th wheel hitches in the towing business. The 1" thick dual jaws provide a 360 degree jaw to king pin contact. This is far superior way to secure your trailer than the typically slide bar models. This extra contact limits chucking and jarring and makes for a more comfortable and quieter towing experience.
I have linked a couple of installation videos below along with some pictures of the Companion's jaws and one where it is installed in the bed of a Ford truck.
The B&W Companion weighs 150 lbs and the Companion Slider weighs 260 lbs. If that's not something you're interested in moving by yourself and don't want to have to rely on someone to help you then I recommend purchasing the B&W 5th Wheel Lifting Device for Companion and Patriot Hitches item # BWRVXA3130. This heavy duty steel tool lets you lift your B&W 5th-wheel hitch from your truck bed with a hoist. The 5th-Wheel jaws clamp around the device for a secure grip.
