Finding Circuit on 2013 Freightliner Sprinter for Red Wire of Brake Controller Install
Question:
i have tekonsha 90160. 2013 freightliner sprinter 2500 without tow package. brake light switch does not look like standard type with two wires and a plunger. no plunger and at least 4 very thin wires. which do i use? or do i tap into a wire actually going to one of my brake light bulbs? thank you.

What you need to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller part # TK90160 for the red wire is a dedicated stoplight circuit that is only active when the brakes are applied. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to determine which of the wires on your brake switch only has voltage when the brakes are applied for this circuit or you could use the circuit that runs to the third brake light of the Sprinter. If the brake lights on the sides of the rear of the vehicle do not blink when the blinker is on you could use them as well.
