Can Kuat NV 2.0 be Used in EcoHitch of 2019 Volkswagen e-Golf

Question:

Hello, I purchased a 2inch receiver hitch from you folks which has a maximum tongue load specification of 300 lbs. In the installation video you say I should consult the owners manual about maximum vehicle tongue load. It seems like a very stout installation. The owners manual indicates the e-Golf should not be used for towing, and says nothing about maximum tongue weight. Currently, I have been carrying 2 road bikes using a Yakima HighLite rack, which is a total of about 70 lbs. Now, I want to carry 2 e-bikes on a Kuat NV 2.0 rack, for a total of about 130 lbs. Is that advisable? Have you ever tried a set up like that on any VW Golf? Thank you,

The 2 inch EcoHitch part # 306-X7375 that fits your 2019 Volkswagen e-Golf is a very stout hitch like you noticed and would easily carry 2 e-bikes with a Kuat NV 2.0 part # NV22G. On vehicles without stated tongue weight capacities the best we can advise is to use good judgment and definitely stay under the weight capacity of the hitch and you'd be fine. We have not yet had the chance to use this hitch or rack on a e-Golf like yours.
