Troubleshooting Vision S Side Camera That Turns Off When Blinkers Are On

Question:

Coming off my camper I have a yellow power and a white neutral/ground. I have the camera power and traffic lamps wired to the power wires. Everythng works but when I turn the blinker on it turns the camera off. I tired hooking up the trigger wire to the same power and that doesn’t work.

It sounds like you are trying to add the LED Marker Light RV Side Cameras w/ Night Vision # FCE48TASL to your Furrion Vision S camera system on your camper. The camera's red wire (power) and brown wire (lamp) can be spliced together and then wired into your running light circuit (not turn signal circuit); the black wire gets grounded. This way the camera and light will only turn on when your running lights are turned on. The yellow wire (trigger) can be capped off since you won't be needing that function.

If you did what I mentioned above and the camera still shuts off when turn signals are activated, then your camper wiring will need to be checked out. It sounds like there is a short somewhere along the wiring so you will want to use a tester such as # PTW2992 to look for any shorts or issues from the truck wiring all the way back to the camper's running light circuit. Worst case scenario, you can rewire the running light circuit on your camper with # 12-1-1 then connect the camera/marker light.

I attached a demonstration video, along with a wiring pinout so you can check the functions of your vehicle's 7 way.
