Troubleshooting Curt Trailer Brake Controller Installation On a 2014 Cadillac Escalade

When I plug the breaking device in number 51451 the car will not start

It looks like the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter # C51451 is only confirmed to fit the 2015-2022 Cadillac Escalade. With you connecting it to a 2014 Escalade it is likely going to a connection that is not for the brake controller. On the 2014 you should be using a Universal Wiring Adapter # C51515 since the wires are not terminated into a connector but only cut and sealed at the ends. Then you will be able to connect a brake controller like the Curt TriFlex # C24VV. I have linked an article below that will help you identify the wiring.
