SAFETY IS OF THE UPMOST IMPORTANCE.I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE A HITCH THAT IS PERMANENTLY IN THE BED. ANY AND ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANKS

From a safety, ride quality and warranty standpoint, the best option would be the B and W Companion Slider, part # BWRVK3400. Since you are already using a B and W Turnover Ball Gooseneck Hitch, there will be no doubts that everything would work together correctly. The sliding hitch is recommended for short bed trucks in order to provide clearance between the trailer loft and rear of the truck cab during turns.
Another option would be the Reese Goosebox, which would completely replace the OE pinbox on your fifth wheel, if you have the correct OE pinbox. If you have a Lippert 0719, 1621, 1621HD or a Fabex PB-600 Series pinbox, the # RP85FR would work well for you.
If you have a Lippert 0115, 1116 and 1716, use the # RP94716-61301. If your OEM pinbox matches one of those listed above, the Goosebox would be a good choice. The downside to the Goosebox is that you would not be able to make 90 degree turns, so you would need to take care when turning.
There are other available options, but from a safety standpoint, these would be my recommendations.
