What Adapter is Needed to Carry Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack on 2012 Toyota Tacoma 2 Inch Receiver

Question:

I was wondering since I have the snug tight pin from my thule 917xtr 1 1/4 , I was wondering if rather than using one pin to attach the 2inch receiver to the 2inch adaptor part of the 2 to 1 1/4 and then attaching my bike rack to the smaller 1 1/4 part , could I just shove the adaptor piece all the way down the 2inch trailer hitch ,on my car and then with the 1 1/4 part sticking out now I then my bike rack and use one pin for the whole thing. So its like Im lining up the 2inch trailer hole to the 1 1/4 hole on the adaptor and then with the 1 1/4 hole on my bike rack . Please get back to me ASAP so I can buy this part , knowing that is will fit . Thank you very much

In order to carry your Thule T2 Classic Platform # TH9045 on your 2012 Toyota Tacoma with a 2 inch receiver opening the Brophy Hitch Reducer # HT02 will do the trick.

With this reducer, you can, like you want, put the adapter in the receiver and insert the pin for the 2 inch receiver to hold the adapter in place and leave it like that. When you want to use your T2 bike rack, you simply insert your bike rack shank into the adapter and use the snug tight pin in the designated hole.
