Hi there. I'm Michael, with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the PTC custom-fit PTC cabin air filter. This air filter is going to replace the cabin air filter that is currently installed on your vehicle. It is a custom fit, so it's going to work with your 2018 Toyota CHR. If you don't know what a cabin air filter does, basically, all of the air that's coming in through your HVA system, your air conditioning and heating, that is going to pass through this filter, so it's going to help capture a lot of the different pollutants and debris that could be coming in, so that you're not having those things blown into your face as you're sitting in the vehicle.
Not only is it going to help improve the air quality in your vehicle, but it's also going to stop all those pollutants from getting to your system, where it could potentially build up and cause problems in the long run. It's not only going to help freshen the air, but also help with the maintenance of your vehicle.This particular filter is a white media particulate filter, so it's going to filter out about 90% of your outside pollutants, like your dust, smoke, bacteria, pollen, mold spores and soot, so it's going to do a very good job of keeping that air nice and clean for you. It's going to be especially important, if you have allergies and those sorts of things. It's going to make sure that you have nice clean air, and help to prevent any maintenance with your HVA system down the road, due to build up.Now, it is important to switch this out pretty frequently, because as that dirt and particulates collect in the filter, it's going to start getting filled up, and dirty and clogged up. You want to make sure that you're switching this out.
This manufacturer recommends, every 12,000 to 18,000 miles, to switch it out. You can pretty much guarantee that your current filter is about the same, but you can always check your owner's manual on your Toyota, to see what they recommend, but keep in mind that, if you live in a big city with a lot of pollution, you might need to change it out more frequently. Also, if you live on a gravel road, a lot of that dust is getting kicked up frequently, so you might need to change this out a little bit more often.For those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for your vehicle, this is an exact replacement for the part numbers that you see on the screen there. If you're looking in your owner's manual, you see those part numbers, or you see that printed on your current air filter, you can trust this is the product that you need.Overall, a very easy process to switch out. You don't need to pay a mechanic to do it for you.
It's pretty easy. It's right behind the glove box on your vehicle. Basically, just lower that glove box. It's sitting right there. Pull out the old one, put the new one in its place and you're ready to go.

My package arrived in ok condition! Way to much much room to be shaken and be destroyed. Luckily mine arrived ok. Some of the original packaging was dented and deformed do to over sized box! I got lucky!
I got the filter, but had a hard time installing it, as it was a bit longer than the oem filter. But in the end, I got it installed.

This poor quality cabin filter doesn’t even fit the space for it and it’s way below OEM quality. Now, it that weren’t enough it came looking like a rodent had peed on it!

The PTC CABIN FILTER #3705 is a great value. Cost is always a factor when purchasing a disposable product, unless you have a lung disorder. Just keep in mind, it may be a long wait for delivery. Ours took several weeks to arrive ... Slow boat from China??

Perfect fit at a great price, I bought 2 to keep up with the replacement. Easy to install, there are directions or just watch a video. Seriously, don't have a mechanic replace this filter, it is very easy.
Although it is not listed on the instructions, it fits a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer (GTS) as OEM. So, don't worry about it.
The service was also very good, there were a few people who kept me updated on my order, as it was delayed a bit. After the first time using etrailer, I had a very good experience, so I plan to come back.
