Receiver Length Behind Hitch Pin On EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan
Question:
Need to fit a Yakima Dr Tray bike carrier which has a locking system built in. The locking device which expands inside the receiver needs at least 2.75” past the center of the pin hole in order work properly. Since pin hole position is usually a standard distance from the front of the receiver, either the entire length of the receiver or the length from the pin hole to the the back end of the receiver will do. Please advise. Thank you.

I recommend installing the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7393 on your 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan to use with your Yakima Dr Tray bike carrier. This receiver has a length of 3.25 from the hitch pin center hole to the back of the receiver. The Receiver # 306-X7395 only has 2" behind the pin hole center and will not allow you to properly use your anti-rattle that is built into the Dr tray.
I recommend installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118811 when you install the receiver. This will give you a 4-way flat connector if you ever need to pull a trailer. It can also be used with Auxiliary Lights # C53201 in the event your carrier impairs the view of your tail lights.
