What Wiring Converter is Needed for a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado to Combine the Wiring For Towing

Question:

I have a 2002 chevy silverado that has seperate turn signals and brake lights. When I hook up my fifth wheel camper I have everything functioning except brake lights. What style tail light converter do i need and where do i hook it to? I have a 7 pole connector on my truck I need to use for my trailers I tow.

It sounds like you are trying to use your 2002 Chevrolet Silverado with a 3 wire system (separate) to tow your 5th wheel camper that has a 2-wire (combined) system and the brake lights will not work.

If this is the case, you can use the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter # RM-732 which will install prior to the 7-way on your truck. This will combine your separate wiring into a combined system. This is something that will typically happen when using a 7-way, but depending on the style of 7-way it may not have a converter.
