Thule Roof Rack Fit on 2020 Kia Niro

Question:

Hi, I would like to purchase a roof rack for my Kia Niro EV 2020. I am interested in the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars. I see that the capacity of the footers are 165 lbs, but the crossbars can hold 220lbs. My cars weight capacity is 210 lbs. Do you have anything with a 200 lb weight capacity?

Superb choice going with the Thule roof rack for your 2020 Kia Niro, though the highest weight capacity for a rack is 165 lbs. That's common with roof racks, as even though the bars are rated for 220 lbs, the rack's feet - which are also load bearing - are limited to 165 lbs. So there isn't going to be a rack with more weight capacity than the Thule for your '20 Niro, and the parts that make up the complete rack are the following:

- Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Silver # TH711200 or Black # TH711220

- Evo Flush Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH710601

- Fit Kit for Thule Evo Flush Roof Rack Feet # TH57JV

This setup gives your Niro the best possible roof rack; the WingBars are quiet so you don't have to put up with the annoying whistling noise that comes from lesser bars, and they are also really easy to use, not to mention highly durable. The WingBars are quiet due to their aero shape and because they have WindDiffusers on top, which are rubber strips with small ridges that help direct air flow over the crossbar, reducing noise.

And as for durability, the WingBars are constructed from aluminum which means they'll never rust, and the crossbars (as well as the rest of the components) come with a lifetime warranty to ensure you never have to worry about the parts wearing out over time - they won't. The only other thing I recommend considering is adding locks to the feet to secure the rack to your Niro; you can do with the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450400.
