Is a Short Roof Adapter Required to Install a Roof Rack on a 2011 Ford Fusion

2011 Ford Fusion bare roof. Is a short roof mount needed for this year/model Fusion or will the standart roof rack work? Thanks!

You will not need a short roof adapter for your 2011 Ford Fusion. The short roof adapter is primarily required for small compact coupe vehicles such as a 2 door Honda Civic or Toyota Yaris. The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack, part # SR1010, is all you will need to add a roof rack to your Fusion.

The SportRack roof rack uses standard square steel crossbars that are compatible with most roof mount accessories. Once this roof rack is installed, you will have a crossbar spread of 26 inches. This dimension is important when choosing roof mounted accessories such as cargo carriers or bike racks. The 26 inch crossbar spread will be compatible with most accessories.

I would be happy to recommend some options if you want to tell me what you are wanting to carry. We have not had the opportunity to install this roof rack on a Ford Fusion yet, but I did attach an installation video of this roof rack on a Chevrolet Cruze to give you an idea on what is involved with the installation.
