Troubleshooting A Curt Q20 Fifth Wheel Hitch That Won't Uncouple

i have a new curt q20 hitch i cant get it to unlock what can i do to make it release thanks

To uncouple the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16130 you'll first want to get the trailer as level as possible with the truck in-line with the trailer. Next you'll need to pull off the handle lock (pictured below) to allow the handle to pull out.
You may need to lift up your trailer just a bit to take some of the pressure off of the hitch head to prevent it from binding up. Being brand new you shouldn't have any issues with it needing grease already so it's most likely just bound up due to the orientation of the tow vehicle.
