Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch For a 2018 Jayco Hummingbird With 450lbs of Tongue Weight
Question:
Will the FA92-00-0450 fit on my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2019 with a tongue capacity of 450 lbs . I am pulling a Jayco hummingbird FD 2018 with with 14 inch tires . The trailer leveled from the ground is 19 inch to the top of the hitch ball . considering that the Trailhawk is 1 inch higher than the Cherokee sport . I believe I am border line for a distribution hitch since I have 3/4 inch rise on my jeep in the front ? Thank you

I highly recommend using a weight distribution hitch while towing your 2018 Jayco Hummingbird travel trailer. The large profile will lead to sway issues that a weight distribution hitch will also help alleviate. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0450 that you found is rated for trailers up to 4,500lbs with up to 450lbs of tongue weight. Since you are right at the tongue weight limit it would be best to go to the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600. This allows for trailers up to 6,000lbs with a tongue weight of 250-600lbs. This will allow you more cushion in the event you add more weight to your camper. With the included shank you have a rise up to 6" and a drop up to 1" from the top of the receiver. You can get the Shank # FA92-02-4214 that will allow for up to a 5-1/2" drop.
The 6,000lb hitch will require a 2" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6080 for connecting to your Jayco. You will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to install the hitch ball.
