Will a Cargo Bag or Box Fit the 2011 to 2014 Dodge Durango with Factory Roof Rack

Question:

What roof top cargo bags or boxes can you recommend for the 3rd generation dodge durangos that have the factory installed rails and crossbars? The crossbars are fixed with only a 25 inch gap between the cross bars. the back antenea and opened hatch also pose a problem as the cross bars are mounted towards the back of the durango. I have the rightline sport but the length is 36 while the gap between the fixed cross bars is only 25. Will this bag still attatch to the cross bars even thoght it would hang over each?

You can still attach a cargo bag to the crossbars on your Dodge Durango even though the bag, # RL100S50, is longer than the bar spread. The bag will sag some in the middle so I recommend using protective pad # RL100650 to protect the roof.

If you wanted to go with a similar sized cargo box that will not interfere with the rear hatch opening I do have a recommendation. The antenna may have to get pushed down if flexible enough if it is the long antenna. If it is the stubby fin type of antenna that some have then it should not be a problem. The Pulse cargo box, # TH614 is listed as a fit for the factory crossbars on a 2011 to 2014 Dodge Durango that will not cause rear hatch interference. I have linked a video review of the box for you.

Since you mentioned you already have the bag I would give it and the protective pad a try to see if you like the setup. You could always go with a box down the road it you decide it fits your needs better.
