Fit of Curt Class III Receiver # 13650 on 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid
Question:
Does this hitch fit the 2005 Escape Hybrid model?
asked by: Tyler
Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt Class III receiver you mentioned, part # 13650 is indeed compatible with the Hybrid model of the 2005 Ford Escape. I have confirmed this with Curt Manufacturing.
The 2 inch receiver opening will provide an excellent attachment point for a hitch mounted bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory. I have linked you to a list of the most popular bike racks among Ford Escape owners. If you will be towing with your Escape, be sure not to exceed the stated towing capacity listed in the owners manual. You might also need the following to complete your towing set-up:
Trailer wiring, part # 118426
Ball mount, part # C45010
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260
2 inch trailer ball, part # 63845
Standard hitch pin, part # PC3
Locking hitch pin, part # e98882
I have linked you to some installation details and videos you might find helpful.
