Does Price Matter When Replacing An A-Frame Electric Jack

Question:

I have a 2021 Crossroads Sunset Trial 299QB. My tongue jack Ram 3500 just went out on me. I am looking for a suggested replacement. Reviews from various brands seem to be all over the place. Is it worth spending more on an electric jack, or does it not really matter?

Typically the only difference between similar capacity jacks is just how quickly or quietly they operate. You won't really see that large of a difference between various models so the Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-BBX you were looking at will be just as good, if not better, than the more expensive options.

Personally, I prefer jacks that come with a drop leg, like this model does, to speed up the lifting process. As long as you choose the correct capacity, install properly, and protect your jack's head from the elements it should last you a long time.

With your 2021 Crossroads Sunset Trail 299QB travel trailer's GVWR sitting at 7550lbs a 3,500lb jack will be enough to properly lift your trailer. To protect it from the elements I recommend the Ultra-Fab Protective Cover for Electric A-Frame Jacks # UF38-944020.
