Offset of Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter CAB-C5GX1216

Question:

How far can I extend this part out? I have a flatbed truck and the gooseneck ball sits down inside a box over the axle and I need to extend this part of your hitch out or down so that I have plenty of room for the extension plate to clear my box and clear the top side of my flatbed when twisting/pivoting on my gooseneck ball.

There is an offset, but the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 cannot be extended out any further than that; it has an offset of 7-1/2 inches.
