Does Thule Hullavator # MPG217 Fit Malone AirFlow2 Crossbars on a 2015 Subaru Forester/?
Question:
I bought a Malone 58inch rack and Seawing for my Pungo 12, 48#kayak, but its too hard to get on my 2015 Subaru Forester by myself. Can I use the Malone 58inch rack with Thule Rapid Crossroad Feet, and then mount a Hullavator atop that? I have checked, and the weight limits for the factory Subaru side racks, the Malone rack are within limits. So its a matter of whether the gear would function together. It looks to me like the Thule feet tighten around whatever you put them on. Thanks!

It sounds like you have raised rails on your 2015 Subaru Forester. Technically, you can use the Malone AirFlow2 - 58" # MPG217 with the Thule Hullavator # TH898 instead of the SeaWing. However, the main thing you need to be aware of is the required 4 additional inches past the length of the feet of the AirFlow2 in order for the Hullavator to function properly. In order to make sure you have enough length, I recommend measuring your crossbar length after the outer edge of the foot of the roof rack. I went ahead and attached a diagram that helps show how to conduct this measurement.
As far as the Thule Rapid Crossroad Feet, those are not necessary with this setup. The Malone AirFlow2 roof rack and the Hullavator # TH898 include all the components you need for installation.
